Choose from half-day, full-day, or multi-day visits to spark students’ curiosity about reading and writing. Sessions are tailored to your curriculum. Authors and illustrators can focus on specific topics like conservation, science, arts, culture, or story writing. A typical full-day booking has three sessions — two in the morning and one in the afternoon — for one or more classes.

Writer in Residence Week

Bring an author or illustrator into your school for a full week of immersive learning.

Students receive mentoring, creative guidance, and in-depth literacy support.
Sessions can be class-focused or workshop-based across year levels, all in a supportive, stimulating environment.

Presentations and Workshops

Most authors and illustrators offer both presentations and workshops. Presentations are great for larger groups, whereas workshops are hands-on options for smaller numbers. A great idea is for all students to attend a presentation, and then a small group are selected to participate in a workshop.

Pricing

Visits start from just $450+GST. Many authors and illustrators are willing to travel outside their local region, or offer online presentations, so don't hesitate to get in touch if someone you'd like isn't based near you. I can often arrange for an author to visit multiple schools to help share the travel costs.
